Even with rain threating all around the Super Stock drivers showed up in force with 16 drivers ready to get it on for the Win. Rick Groves leads the 16 car field to the stripe with Leroy Binkley quickly grabbing the lead going into turn one from his outside front row starting spot. These guys are ready to race and several cars get together with Tink Jackson in the #71 Willie’s Pump Service Chevrolet ending up with a flat tire.. Tink brings the car into the pits to the attention of Willie and the crew. The crew quickly gets the car checked over, the tire changed and Tink back on the track in time for the restart. On the restart they go three wide with the #2 of Binkley jumping to the lead and the 71 of Jackson getting the second position followed by Rick Groves, and Johnathon Dishman in 4th. These guys are wound up and ready to go as Dishman quickly works over the #26 of Groves and gets past. We got racing everywhere as the 11 of Jim Jordan is under the 01 of Sam Arnold the 32 of Roger Birdsong is battling with Thomas Pannell down the back shute into turn three. Dishman is making a power move to the back of Tink Jacksons Chevrolet in the battle for second when the 01 of Arnold causes a caution spinning off turn two.
Current running order is Binkley, Jackson, Dishman, Barnes, and Jordan are the top five. Sam McCord in a newly purchased Super Stock car was making a great run to the front as he was already up to seventh. On the restart Binkley jumps out to the lead again with Jackson and Dishman battling it out for second. The 67 of Dishman clears Jackson as the 18 of Thomas Pannell makes quick work of Jackson to take the 3rd spot. Pannell is driving the wheel off his ride in a hurry to get up front and lead this 16 car field. Dishman is about to make his move on Leroy Binkley when we have a caution for a spin involving Sam Arnold and a he has a loose bumper that has to be taken care of.
On the restart the 2 and the 67 are side by side for the lead with the 18 of Pannell right in their tire tracks. Binkley clears Dishman going to the point once again now Pannell makes a move on Dishman to the inside for the second position and now he sets his sights on Binkley in the #2 machine. The 18 is looking for the lead #2 still leads into turn three and to the stripe. Binkley clears again and the top three are nose to tail #2 - #18 – #67 with the #27 of Sam McCord on the move from near the rear of the field up into the fourth position.. Pannell makes a bid for the lead and as he clears Binkley for the lead the 31 of Matt Barnes spins off turn four causing a caution. During the caution the #2 of Binkley brings his ride to the infield to the attention of his crew. On the restart the 18 takes the lead with the 67 close in his tracks. The 18 is leading and breaks causing another caution… On the restart the 67 of Johnathon Dishman takes command with Roger Birdsong 2nd and Jackson side by side at the line for second. At the drop of the checkered flag its Dishman, Birdsong and Jackson in the 3rd position. Congratulations to Johnathon and his crew on a Big Win for the 67 car.
