| As every day passes we get closer to the start of 2010 season right here at the RIM, short track racing at its best. March 13th @ 2PM is when the green flag will wave to start the 48th year of Highland Rim... So make plans now to attend. Hopefully the wet and cold-weather is behind us now, so we can start preparations for media day on the 6th March.
With the coming of the warmer weather the track will be available for rental; simply cause or drop us an e-mail to check times and dates.
We have given much thought for the 2010 season on how to keep the cost down for everyone during these economic times that we are all going through. So the decision has been made to keep all regular competing divisions on the Tile City Recap Slick. As with many speedways to the North of us; in doing this will significantly lower the cost of the upper divisions competing on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I'm sure that we will go through little growing pains to implement this, but in the long run is just the best thing to do at this time. As to the competitors at the end of last year that switched over; they will have a slight advantage starting out this year, but the pack will catch up very quickly. If everyone is on the same tire there is no advantage or disadvantage to any one competitor; the great sthing always with the Tile City Recap slick is that a set that has three or four races on them are faster than new ones. So with that being said, the first shipment of tires will be available to be purchased at the Speedway on Friday, February the 5th; the cost for a set is $300.00.
